The Cleveland Browns won't have quarterback Dillon Gabriel on the field for their Week 12 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Gabriel suffered a concussion in the Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that led to his early exit from the contest and ultimately led to him being ruled out in Week 12.
With Gabriel exiting early last week, fellow rookie signal-caller Shedeur Sanders made his NFL debut and will now make his first career start in Week 12.
But will Sanders' run as the starter last more than one week?
Here's what we know about Gabriel's chances of returning in Week 13.
When is Dillon Gabriel coming back?
It's hard to say whether or not Gabriel will be back in Week 13, as concussions can be very tricky.
What we do know is that Gabriel turned in a limited practice on Friday, which is a clear sign of progress in the concussion protocol.
As a result, there's a chance that he plays in Week 13, although we would not go as far as to say that's a certainty.
For now, we'll call it a slightly better than a 50/50 proposition that Gabriel returns next week.
While the Browns have remained steadfast in saying Gabriel will return to his starting job once healthy, his struggles this season leave the door at least slightly ajar for Sanders to change that.
Sanders didn't do himself any favors in Week 11 after a terrible showing, but he can quickly turn things around with a strong performance in Week 12.
