Shedeur Sanders, arguably one of the most high-profile fifth-round picks in NFL history, started and won his first game for the Cleveland Browns, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 24-10.
It wasn't the prettiest performance. Sanders completed 11 of 20 pass attempts for 209 yards, with a passing touchdown and one interception. His biggest highlight came from a 50-yard completion to Isaiah Bond.
But the fact of the matter is, the Browns won, and Sanders had a message for all of those out there hoping he'll fail.

"It's no excuse, you gotta go out there and perform. It's no choice, it's no question. Nobody cares if it's one week of prep," Sanders told the press.
"Who cares. You know, so a lot of people wanna see me fail. It ain't gonna happen."
The discourse surrounding Sanders has been polarizing to say the least, and obviously, the 144th overall pick in last April's draft is aware of it.
But after this victory, Sanders has certainly earned a day or two of bragging rights.
It remains to be seen if the former Colorado standout will start next week when Cleveland takes on the San Francisco 49ers.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski refused to answer whether it will be him or fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.
Gabriel was out with a concussion this week, leading to his draft classmate's first start.
With the momentum and energy behind Sanders, it would be hard to see Stefanski making the switch.
