Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most discussed quarterbacks in the NFL this season.

That's despite the Cleveland Browns rookie not even taking the field for a regular season snap until Week 11.

That's what happens when your last name is Sanders, and when you have a wildly unexpected NFL Draft free fall to the fifth round and pick No. 144 after many projected you as a first-round pick.

Much of it isn't even Sanders' fault. It's just the hand he has been dealt, and now he has to try and make the most of it.

He'll start to get that chance more fully in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Is Shedeur Sanders playing today?

Yes, Sanders is set to make his first NFL start on Sunday for the Browns in Vegas.

He's filling in for fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, who is out with a concussion.

Bailey Zappe will back up Shedeur.

Sanders made his NFL debut last Sunday in relief against the Raiders and struggled, going 4-for-16 for 47 yards with an interception while taking two sacks.

A week of preparation should make a world of difference for Sanders. So should the chance to go up against a 2-8 Raiders team. As long as Sanders can stay away from superstar Maxx Crosby, there's not a lot else to be scared of on the Vegas defense.

When is Shedeur Sanders' game today?

The Browns kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET against the Raiders.

It'll be televised on CBS only in local markets: a small swatch of northern Ohio, and about half of Nevada.
