One of the biggest stories of the season has centered around the drama between the Cleveland Browns and Shedeur Sanders.

This started after the Browns drafted the quarterback in the fifth round, even though multiple teams had passed on him, including teams with question marks at the position. The team also drafted Heisman finalist Dillon Gabriel.

Although it appeared that Sanders could win over playing time as it approached, that was nowhere near the case.

NFL veteran Joe Flacco was named the starter to begin the season, and Sanders was placed at the fourth string before moving up to the third, then was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, who needed a better replacement after Joe Burrow went down with an injury.

That then led to Gabriel being named the new starter, and, even though it seemed clear to many, it may be time for Sanders to get his chance to lead the offense.

Eventually, that happened after Gabriel left the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens, after being sidelined with a concussion in the third quarter. It was an outing Sanders would like to forget, completing only 4 of 12 passes.

After the game, Sanders said it was his first time getting reps with the starters and promised that with a week of preparation, he would perform better.

Sanders delivered on that promise with one of his best performances as a pro versus the Las Vegas Raiders, throwing for 209 yards and a touchdown, while securing the win.

Now, after a commanding loss to the Chicago Bears last week, Sanders proposes another promise with next season in mind.

"This year right here, it's the worst it's going to be," Sanders said when speaking to the media on Wednesday.

There is no doubt that with a full season of security, knowing he will be the starter, Sanders has the potential to take the Browns to new heights, but only time will tell if that happens.
