Shedeur Sanders implores fans to be respectful to Dillon Gabriel after loss to Ravens image

The Cleveland Browns suffered a tough loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. After leading 13-3, the Browns fell to Baltimore 23-16 following a strong second half.

The overarching story from this game, though, was the debut of Shedeur Sanders. The rookie from Colorado came in after Dillon Gabriel left the game to be evaluated for a concussion. With that in mind, it wasn't exactly the debut Sanders was hoping for. 

The polarizing quarterback went 4-of-16 for 47 yards and an interception in the loss. And while he didn't play great, the way he handled his press conference afterward deserves recognition.

Speaking about his debut, Sanders said that he was thankful, but also implored Browns fans not to cheer for him when Dillon Gabriel is on the field.

 

“I’m extremely thankful," Sanders said via Jordan Schultz. "Let me say this: When Dillon’s out there playing, I appreciate the fans (cheering for me), but I’m a good person, so I don’t really like him not feeling comfortable and confident. It puts everything in a tough spot. It’s not helping the team.”

Following the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that Dillon Gabriel will be the starting quarterback for Week 12, provided he's healthy enough to play. The Browns' next opponent, in Las Vegas, will be the Raiders.
