TL;DR

  • Shedeur Sanders threw his first NFL regular season touchdown pass to Dylan Sampson for 66 yards.
  • Sanders also completed a 52-yard pass to Isaiah Bond, stopping at the 2-yard line.
  • Sanders ended a 17-quarterback losing streak for Cleveland Browns starters.
  • His father, Deion Sanders, watched Shedeur appear more comfortable than in his previous relief appearance.

Shedeur Sanders kept it simple on the first touchdown pass of his NFL regular season career.

His fellow rookie, Browns running back Dylan Sampson, did all the work.

Sampson received a pass from Sanders in the right flat, where he found several blockers and then demonstrated his quickness.

Sampson burst through the open space and wasn't caught as he raced all the way to the end zone.

Earlier in the game, Sanders executed a remarkable 52-yard pass on a rollout, which resulted in Isaiah Bond being stopped at the 2-yard line. This play stood out as his personal best for the match.

However, the 66-yard touchdown will always appear quite impressive on paper as Sanders' inaugural touchdown pass.

The seven points gave the Browns a 24-3 lead on the Raiders in the fourth quarter. And it was sending Sanders on his way to history.

Cleveland's quarterbacks experienced a significant losing streak; their most recent 17 players to debut as starters for the team had all been defeated.

However, Sanders managed to end that awful streak, aided by a strong performance and two touchdown runs from Quinshon Judkins.

Deion, his father, was present in Vegas, situated in a booth alongside former NBA small forward Matt Barnes. They observed Shedeur appearing considerably more at ease compared to his relief performance the previous week.

It remains uncertain if Sanders will be the starter for Week 13, or if Dillon Gabriel will take over quarterback duties should he recover from his concussion.

For the moment, Sanders is enjoying his highlight and his memorable touchdown. He owes Sampson credit for the extensive gain following the reception.
