When camp begins, the Cleveland Browns quarterback battle will be one of the biggest storylines in the NFL. The Browns selected rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in Rounds 3 and 5, respectively.

That added to a QB room that includes veteran Joe Flacco and recently acquired Kenny Pickett. Deshaun Watson is injured and likely out for the entire 2025 season, so it is down to those four mentioned previously.

While rookie minicamp came and went, questions will remain all summer as to who the QB1 will be and who will be the odd man out.

Yahoo Sports analysts Nate Tice, Matt Harmon and Charles McDonald discussed the Browns QB situation, and McDonald named Sanders and Pickett as potential cut options.

McDonald had Flacco and Gabriel pegged as QB1 and QB2, but the others were more difficult.

"I think Shedeur's a better quarterback than Kenny Pickett, but I don't know if they cut Kenny after they just tried to acquire him," McDonald said. "I think I'll put Pickett 3A and Sanders 3B, but maybe those guys who are fighting for their chances of making the roster."

"I think there's going to be potentially two odd man out, not just one," Nate Tice added at the end.

After rookie minicamp, there have been plenty of reports, with The Athletic's Zac Jackson saying Sanders threw the ball better than Gabriel.

"In just throwing the ball, it's not close. Shedeur Sanders. It's not close. It's no question."

Another analyst said Gabriel was "better" than Sanders, so it's been a mixed bag after the first minicamp session.

But the Browns cutting Sanders is a real possibility with a crowded QB room, so this will be a close one to monitor in the coming months.
