Aside from Steelers fans, most NFL fans will likely be rooting for the Cleveland Browns and Shedeur Sanders on Sunday, as a Browns win would set the stage for a pivotal Week 18 showdown between Pittsburgh and the Baltimore Ravens with the AFC North title on the line.
The Ravens defeated the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, powered by Derrick Henry, who climbed the ranks on multiple career statistical records. The win moves Baltimore to 8-8, while the Steelers sit at 9-6 as they head to Cleveland on Sunday. A win for Pittsburgh and they clinch the AFC North.
Shedeur Sanders can save the city of Baltimore on Sunday
Aaron Rodgers, the 42-year-old quarterback with 255 career starts, is dealing with a wrist injury but is expected to play. Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, starting in just his sixth game, has a chance to deliver another standout performance against one of the league’s lower-ranked defenses.
A loss for the Browns and the Ravens would be eliminated from playoff contention. A Browns victory would keep Baltimore’s postseason hopes alive and cement Sanders and the Browns in the spotlight. The city of Baltimore would be singing Sanders’ praises, that’s for sure,
Also, recent reports suggest the Browns have yet to commit to head coach Kevin Stefanski or Sanders for 2026, adding intrigue to the matchup.
All eyes, however, will be on star pass rusher Myles Garrett, already regarded as one of the all-time greats. Garrett is just one sack shy of tying the single-season record held by Bruce Smith and T.J. Watt (who is out Sunday) and has promised to make it happen. It would be a special milestone if achieved against Rodgers, two future first-ballot Hall of Famers.
