Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett is edging closer to NFL history. Despite the Browns’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, the former Texas A&M defensive end continued his dominant season with another strong performance.

Garrett finished the game with five tackles, including two solo stops and two tackles for loss, and added one sack to his growing total. He is now just five sacks shy of the NFL’s single-season record, and with several weeks left in the regular season, the milestone is well within reach.

Garrett told reporters this week that he isn’t treating the chase as a hope or a dream — he sees it as an inevitable outcome.

“The sack record has already been written in my mind,” Garrett said. “I don’t even think about it as a want — I just think about something that I’m going to knock down. It’s already been written in my mind that it’s going just how far I’m going to take it. So I’m just going to go out there and do what I do, and whatever number I end up at.”

With the Browns pushing toward the postseason and Garrett playing some of the best football of his career, all eyes will remain on one of Texas A&M’s most decorated NFL products as he inches toward the league’s most elusive defensive record. Garrett has 19 sacks through 12 games, putting him well on pace for a 27-sack season.
