Is Myles Garrett the GOAT? Browns star named unanimous All-Pro after record 23-sack season image

Myles Garrett didn’t just knock on the door of the Hall of Fame this season; he kicked it off the wall! By earning his fifth AP First-Team All-Pro selection Saturday, Garrett has officially entered the "Greatest of All Time" conversation.

Garrett's 2025 season was a defensive masterpiece. The 2017 first-overall pick broke the NFL single-season record with 23 sacks, and did so by taking down old rival Joe Burrow in the closing minutes of Week 18.

This wasn't just about volume, though; it was about efficiency. Garrett led the league with 33 tackles for loss and 39 quarterback hits, prompting defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz to label him a "wrecker" and "Spiderman."

When you stack Garrett’s resume against pass-rushing legends, the "GOAT" argument becomes undeniable. Having just turned 30 years old, Garrett’s five First-Team All-Pro nods puts him in the same conversation with all-timers like Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor.

While Taylor revolutionized the linebacker position, Garrett is rewriting the record books for defensive ends, becoming the first player since 1982 to record 12+ sacks in six consecutive seasons.

"I think he's going to be the greatest of all time when it's all said and done," teammate Grant Delpit said. Looking at the data, Delpit is likely right. Garrett passed the 22.5-sack milestone set previously by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt, doing so with a combination of freakish athleticism and technical mastery that Schwartz called "one for the history books."

With a jersey headed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton and a motor that shows no signs of slowing down, Myles Garrett isn't just the best in the game today--he’s making a case as the most dominant edge-rusher ever.
