LeBron James sends message to Browns’ Myles Garrett after breaking sack record image

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett finally etched his name in the record books against the Cincinnati Bengals after sacking Joe Burrow to set a new single-season sack record with 23.

The moment provided many reactions across social media, giving Garrett much-deserved praise as he put a bow on his outstanding season, even though it was a year to forget for the Browns as a team.

Garrett finishes the season with 23 sacks, and one of those to give him praise also has that number in common.

LeBron James congratulates Myles Garrett after breaking the sack record

Four-time NBA champion and Arkon legend LeBron James tweeted his congratulations to his hometown team's star.

From one 23 to another, Garrett surpasses NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt, who plays for the Browns' divisional rival in the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Not only did the edge rusher get the sack record, but he also got the win as the slim road victory over the Bengals, in which the defense shone the brightest, which has particularly been the case all this season for the Browns.

With the sack record finally secured for Garrett, the focus will now shift to the future of the team this offseason.

Garrett requested a trade last offseason, but ultimately signed a lucrative contract to remain with the Browns, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history; the contract is worth $204.7 million.

The initial reason for the request was Garrett's desire to be on a team where he could win many games, which is the opposite of where the Browns are currently.

Earlier in the week, Garrett doubled down on his commitment to winning and his opposition to a rebuild, raising questions about how much longer the historic sack leader will want to remain in Cleveland.
