John Harbaugh coaching update: Browns among five teams contacting him image

John Harbaugh is going through an unfamiliar process after being let go by the Baltimore Ravens early last week.

The Super Bowl-winning head coach was fired by the Ravens after losing the AFC North to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a last-second fashion and ultimately being eliminated from postseason contention.

After news broke on the situation, Harbaugh emerged as a top head coaching candidate for the teams that are now looking for someone to lead them.

Browns are among five teams undergoing extensive phone calls with John Harbaugh for head coaching job

The Cleveland Browns happen to be one NFL franchise looking for a new head coach.

Cleveland fired Kevin Stefanski after six seasons with the team, winning two Coach of the Year awards in 2020 and 2023, as well as leading the team in postseason success that the organization hadn't seen in decades.

With Stefanski leaving, the Browns are in a new search for a head coach, and according to senior NFL insider Adam Shefter, Cleveland is among teams like the New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, and Arizona Cardinals of teams "conducting preliminary and extensive phone calls" with Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is trying to figure out which teams he would like to meet with later this week and into the coming weeks before deciding on where he will be coaching in 2026.

Cleveland would be an interesting place for the 63-year-old as he would face the Ravens twice a year in the AFC North.
