The Cleveland Browns have been wheeling and dealing.

After trading veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this week, they made another transaction last night, sending cornerback Greg Newsome to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for defensive back Tyson Campbell and a late-round pick swap.

Newsome, the former 26th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, was entering the last year of his deal and was set to become a free agent at season's end.

Shortly after the news broke, Newsome took to his X account to say goodbye to Cleveland after three and a half seasons with the Browns.

"Love Cleveland its been real," he wrote.

The Northwestern product now heads to Duval County, where he hopes to stick around long-term.

Campbell, who was selected only seven picks after Newsome in the 2021 NFL Draft, now comes in as the Browns' starting cornerback opposite Denzel Ward.

The former Jaguar signed a four-year, $76.5 million contract with Jacksonville last offseason, but after a regime change, the new general manager decided he wasn't a fit for their current defense.

This trade marks the second major transaction between the Browns and Jaguars this calendar year, as the two franchises made a major draft day trade back in April.

"Cleveland previously traded the No. 2 overall pick to Jacksonville in exchange for the No. 5 selection and the Jaguars’ 2026 first-rounder — a move that allowed Jacksonville to draft standout two-way Heisman-winner Travis Hunter," wrote Heavy's J.R. DeGroote.

With the trade deadline still about a month away, it's possible this isn't the last deal Cleveland makes.
