The Cleveland Browns enter the NFL Draft still somewhat in limbo at the quarterback position. They brought in both Kenny Pickett via trade and signed Joe Flacco to come back to Cleveland after a one-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts. However, with all due respect to the aforementioned names, the Browns don't have a long-term starting caliber quarterback on their roster, and neither Flacco nor Pickett will get this team to the playoffs. With that in mind, a quarterback they have certainly had their eyes on may now be available.
The Atlanta Falcons signed quarterback Easton Stick on Monday, a viable backup for Michael Penix. This could be a sign that the Falcons are ready to trade Kirk Cousins. A trade for the former Viking has been viewed as potentially difficult due to his $40 million cap hit. And while they'll likely have to eat a chunk of that in order to get anything for him.
Cousins was benched last season for Penix after throwing 16 interceptions and looking immobile after his Achilles injury in 2023. That said, with a full year of play under his belt to get fully healthy, combined with the pre-existing relationship Kevin Stefanski and Cousins have from their days in Minnesota together, it would make sense for the Browns to bring in Cousins via trade to give them their best chance to get back to the postseason.
