Browns Mock Draft shock: Daniel Jeremiah’s controversial 1st round pivot image

Get ready to throw something Browns fans...because if NFL Network insider Daniel Jeremiah's Mock Draft 1.0 comes true, there's a good chance you'll be infuriated.

As we know by now, Cleveland owns two first round picks. Their own at No. 6 as well as the Jaguars at 24th overall, which they acquired on Day 1 of the draft last year.

The 2025 season was a grind, as the offense averaged the second fewest points-per-game in the league at 16.4. GM Andrew Berry preached scoring after head coach Kevin Stefanski was fired, but Jeremiah feels he could pull a shocking pivot.

No. 6 - David Bailey, Edge, Texas Tech (6'3", 250-lbs)

"Cleveland should take the best player available here. A receiver could also be in play, but Bailey has the best get-off of any pass rusher in the draft. Alex Wright is a solid edge who signed a contract extension in November, but Bailey is a different caliber of player. Myles Garrett would have some talented running mates up front."

Instead of an offensive explosion, Jeremiah has the Browns taking a massive defensive gamble at sixth overall. Would this be a masterclass in "best player available" strategy, or is it a catastrophic oversight of the team's biggest holes?

In his mock, Ohio State's star wide receiver Carnell Tate is still on the board. The Dawg Pound would freak out if a playmaker like that was passed over for a position that has depth.

No. 24 (via Jacksonville)- Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama (6'7", 366-lbs)

"Proctor is an enormous human. If the Browns can keep Dawand Jones healthy, they would have a massive duo at tackle."

This choice makes much more practical sense. After an early run on tackles, the Browns swing back to select a big bodied OT from the SEC. The type of help this decimated Cleveland O-line desperately needs.
