The Cleveland Browns have made a major decision regarding rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

On Monday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Sanders would remain the team’s starting quarterback for the remainder of the current campaign.

Shedeur Sanders to start for Browns for rest of 2025 season

The Browns have four games remaining on their regular season slate. Those games are against the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals.

"I think [Sanders] is constantly and consistently gotten better in each one of these games and how he's approached this game," Stefanski said. "He's been working very hard. So, I feel good about where his development is heading. He knows there are always gonna be plays that he can be better and those type of things, but he's very intentional about getting better each and every game he's out there."

Sanders' climb up Cleveland's QB depth chart this season has been impressive. He began the season as a distant fourth behind the likes of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel and he's worked himself all the way up to the starting spot.

Sanders became the first Browns QB since 1995 to get a win in his first NFL start when he led Cleveland to a 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12. Since then though he's lost two straight starts. Overall, the Browns have gone 1-2 with him at the helm.

Now, Sanders will get four more starts under his belt before the end of the season. That should provide the Browns with an extended look at Sanders to see if he could possibly be their quarterback of the future.

So far this season, Sanders has thrown for 769 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 52.4 percent of his passes. He's also rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Following Cleveland's 31-29 Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Sanders explained his ability to embrace the uncertainty and uncomfortableness that has characterized his rookie campaign.

"I mean, I'm comfortable with being uncomfortable," Sanders said. "You gotta understand, that's just kinda like the situation I'm in, and I'm fine with that. I love that. Because my story and everything inspires people to make sure, even if they're in uncomfortable positions and situations, to stay on course and keep their mental strong."

Sanders and the Browns will be back in action in Week 15 against the Bears in Chicago.
