The Cleveland Browns have had a difficult time when it comes to second-round draft pick Quinshon Judkins. The rookie out of Ohio State remains unsigned, and the Browns' season begins in less than a week where they'll take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
With that said, Cleveland may be getting set for their rookie running back to report to the team. According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Judkins will be back with the Browns very soon.
“I believe Judkins will be back with the Browns soon, possibly even sometime this week as they prepare for the Bengals," Cabot writes. "If he makes it back early enough in the week, he could possibly contribute some in the opener.” A signing before the first game of the season would be awesome for the Browns. So what’s been holding things up all this time? Cabot speculates the dispute is likely still over the guarantees in the deal. The total contract value is already set based on his draft position. “The amounts are slotted. He’s due to make about $11.4 million over four years, with a signing bonus close to $5 million.”
Judkins was likely set to be the No. 1 running back for the Browns, as they let Nick Chubb go to the Houston Texans and didn't have a proven No. 1 on the roster. Judkins ran for over 3,700 yards and 45 touchdowns in college.
