The Cleveland Browns made the choice to cut veteran kicker Dustin Hopkins at the end of the preseason, opting to go with the younger Andre Szmyt, However, they may already be regretting that choice.
Szmyt missed a field goal and an extra point, which ended up being costly for the Browns, who lost by one to the Cincinnati Bengals. If the Browns are back in the market for a kicker, a former Steeler could be the answer to their problems.
Ben Sauls had a good preseason with Pittsburgh, most notably in the finale against the Carolina Panthers. He went 4-for-4, including a 50-yarder in a 19-10 win over the Panthers. He went 52-of-64 in his career at the University of Pittsburgh, and could be a good name to bring onto the practice squad.
