Ravens have clear advantage over Buffalo Bills in Week 1 matchup image

The Baltimore Ravens are set to begin their 2025 season where their 2024 season ended, as they will face the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday night to close out the Sunday slate of Week 1 games. And while Buffalo defeated the Ravens once again in the postseason this past season, they have a clear advantage in the Week 1 matchup.

The Bills are dealing with a line of injuries in the secondary. Christian Benford has been limited in practice, and rookie No. 2 cornerback Max Hairston will be out for at least the first four games due to a knee injury. On top of that, veteran Tre'Davious White, who spent time with the Ravens last offseason and returned to the Bills, has missed practice all week. This means that rookie Day Three draft pick Dorian Strong will likely be the CB2, or perhaps CB1 if Benford cannot go.

If the Bills are starting a late-round rookie, the Ravens should press the air attack and take advantage of the lack of depth and talent in Buffalo's secondary. On top of that, the Ravens ran all over the Bills last season, with Derrick Henry totaling 199 yards on the ground and taking the opening play 87 yards to the house. The Ravens' offense is a complete mismatch for the Bills' defense, which could be the deciding factor in the game.
