The Cleveland Browns will hope to turn the page on a disappointing 2025 season, but it remains to be seen if the franchise will part ways with longtime head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Since 2020, the two-time Coach of the Year has accumulated a 43-55 record as the head coach of the Browns, but after a second straight double-digit loss season, it may be time for a change.
ESPN's Bill Barnwell believes the Cleveland job would be an attractive one, given their ample draft capital and cornerstone players in place.
Browns labeled as a top available head coaching gig if open
"If the Browns do move on from Kevin Stefanski after six seasons (and two Coach of the Year awards), their new coach will face a franchise that's still in transition...A new coach would likely help determine whether the Browns use one or both of their first-round picks in 2026 (via trade up) to help land a new quarterback," wrote Barnwell.
"The good news is that Andrew Berry's 2025 draft was a hit. Graham has flashed on the interior. Judkins might be the best back in the class. Carson Schwesinger is a deserved favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Harold Fannin Jr. Has made an immediate impact as a move tight end. Dylan Sampson has been explosive in a situational role."
In reality, the Browns are really only a quarterback, a No. 1 wide receiver, and a handful of offensive linemen away from being a playoff team.
Should Cleveland fire Stefanski? Who's to say for sure? It may just be time for a fresh voice in the room to inject some new life into the franchise.
