The Cleveland Browns lost to the Tennessee Titans 31-29, but amid the loss, a lot was learned about the team's rookies.

Shedeur Sanders proved his worth, and now he will start the rest of the season. Harold Fannin Jr. Looks to be an elite tight end, and Quinshon Judkins remains a strong focal point of the offense going forward.

But, unfortunately for the Sanders and the Browns offense, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the worst possible update on center Ethan Pocic was confirmed, as the key offensive lineman is out for the season.

Browns, Shedeur Sanders lose center Ethan Pocic for rest of 2025 season

"Browns C Ethan Pocic tore his Achilles and is out for the season, per coach Kevin Stefanksi." Rapoport shared on Monday afternoon.

This update is a brutal one for everyone on the Browns. Not only is Pocic, who's trying to play for a big contract, out for the season, but the Browns offense will need to rely upon a backup to get a good look at Sanders, Fannin, Judkins, and the other rookies.

At 3-10, the Browns are playing for the future in the final four weeks of the season. Seeing what Sanders and the rest of the Browns' rookies can accomplish will provide a lot of insight into what plans Cleveland should make this offseason.

But, with Pocic out for the year, not only will the Browns be without a key offensive lineman to close out the year, but the offense as a whole will likely take a step back.

Luke Wypler is the backup center, and the 24-year-old out of Ohio State will be slated to close out the year for the Browns. Wypler is a step down from Pocic, as he's not nearly as good a pass protector or run blocker.

Losing any offensive lineman can have a huge impact on the production of the offense, and the center will have a big impact on exchanges with the quarterback. Sanders will need to be great at the snap, as he might have to deal with worse snaps, either out of shotgun or under center.

Pocic will miss the rest of the season with a brutal Achilles tear and now faces a very long road to recovery, which will have a profound impact on his new contract and how ready he is for the 2026 season.
