Browns' Shedeur Sanders earns bold 'best QB' prediction from former NFL GM image

Predictions about Shedeur Sanders' NFL career are all over the map.

He already got off to a rocky start in the NFL Draft when he plummeted to the fifth round, where the Cleveland Browns mercifully chose the consensus first-round QB out of Colorado.

Many have used that to suggest that Sanders won't pan out in the NFL.

But Scot McCloughan, formerly GM of both the 49ers and of Washington, thinks differently.

He joined Pacman Jones' podcast recently and shared this take:

"I think he’ll be the best quarterback out of this draft. When it’s all said and done, when his career is said and done, he’ll be the best QB out of this draft."

That would mean Shedeur turns out better than the five quarterbacks taken before him, including No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, along with Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and even teammate Dillon Gabriel.

It does align with ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr.'s opinion on Sanders. He made it very clear throughout the NFL Draft that he had Shedeur ranked as QB1 on his board.

Sanders might not start right away as part of a crowded Cleveland depth chart, but it probably wouldn't hurt him to watch and learn for a bit, anyway.

Eventually, he'll probably get his chance. It'll be up to him to seize it and try to prove McCloughan right.
