The Cleveland Browns began joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, preparing for their Week 2 preseason game against one another. However, the Browns suffered a notable injury during the practice.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury on Wednesday.
"Browns QB Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury while throwing during the early portion of practice today, and was held out for the rest of the session," Schefter posted on X.
The Browns plan to start Sanders in the preseason game against the Eagles. Sanders started in Week 1 of exhibition play against the Carolina Panthers, throwing two touchdown passes and sparking a lot of Browns fans to call for hi to be the Week 1 starter against the Cincinnati Bengals.
