The Cleveland Browns are once again circling the drain on another lost season.

At 1-5 through six weeks, the Browns are heading towards a high draft pick come April, and they could potentially use it on another quarterback.

While they have Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders on the roster, it seems like neither has what it takes to prove themselves as the Browns' franchise quarterback, with Gabriel struggling through two starts and Sanders deemed too behind in development to see the field.

Mock draft has Browns selecting SC's LaNorris Sellers

In Josh Edwards' most recent mock draft on CBS Sports, he has Cleveland selecting South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers with the sixth overall pick.

"The third quarterback off the board is potentially the one who has the most room for growth as a passer. LaNorris Sellers is a big-body quarterback who sheds arm tackles like wrapping paper on Christmas morning," wrote Edwards.

"There is no questioning his arm strength but rather if he will consistently make the correct decisions with the football."

Sellers will be the most polarizing prospect if he declares for the 2026 draft, as his physical traits and abilities will be the most tantalizing of all quarterbacks featured in his class.

If he does get selected by the Browns at No. 6, Cleveland would be wise to allow Sellers to sit and develop as an NFL quarterback and not throw him to the wolves early. Gabriel or Sanders could handle starting duties until the South Carolina product is ready to see the field.

Through six games this season, Sellers has completed 64% of his passes for 1010 yards, to go along with four touchdowns and two interceptions.

While his traits are impressive, Sellers' long-term outlook hinges on his developmental process, and Cleveland doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to allowing young quarterbacks to flourish.
