Browns' Myles Garrett has perfect opportunity to chase sack record vs. Titans image

At 3-9, Cleveland Browns fans haven't had much to cheer for this season. But Myles Garrett is a reason to tune in every week, as he's currently on pace to smash the NFL single-season sack record.

Through 13 weeks and 12 games played, Garrett has 19 sacks. That would be a remarkable total to close out the year with, and he has another five weeks to add to that total.

ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi highlighted a few key statistics for Garrett in chasing the sack record, and one of the most important ones comes with the matchup against the Tennessee Titans. There's no better matchup for Garrett to bolster his sack total than this matchup.

Browns-Titans Week 14 matchup is huge opportunity for Myles Garrett to chase sack record

"Garrett's pace gives him some wiggle room for a down afternoon or two, but he hasn't shown signs of slowing down." Oyefusi writes. "His next matchup is vs. The Titans and rookie quarterback Cam Ward, who has taken the most sacks in the NFL this season (48)."

The Browns' superstar defensive lineman has 15 sacks in his last six games. No other players have done that since sacks began being tracked back in 1982.

He's playing as good as any defensive lineman in NFL history has ever played, and he now gets to face the Titans and their struggling offensive line and rookie quarterback.

Cam Ward has taken 48 sacks this season, the most by any quarterback in the NFL. With a matchup against the scorching-hot Myles Garrett, Ward is likely to be under pressure all game.

Garrett is on pace for 27 sacks this season, and while he might not reach that total, the 22.5 sack record is well within reach.

Against the Titans, while not likely, Garrett could break the NFL sack record in Week 14. He's had more than 3.5 sacks in two games this season, with four and five-sack performances in the last five weeks.

Garrett is on track to not only break the NFL sack record but also demolish it if he keeps up this pace. With a matchup against the most-sacked quarterback in the NFL on tap, Garrett has a non-zero chance of breaking the sack record in just 13 games.

Despite a bleak matchup on paper of two teams at 2-10 and 3-9, this Titans-Browns matchup is a must-watch, as Garrett could have a massive performance against a struggling Titans offensive line.
