The Cleveland Browns' offense has several issues, but one has been glaringly obvious in 2025.
They lack a premier pass catcher, with the offense relying heavily on rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. As their leading receiver. Jerry Jeudy has talent, but at this point in his career, it's obvious he's not a true No. 1 wideout.
Armed with the No. 4 as of December 10, Cleveland is in a prime position to target an offensive playmaker, and that's exactly what Field Yates has the Browns doing in his latest mock draft for ESPN.
Browns mock draft lands Ohio State WR Carnell Tate
Yates' mock draft has the Browns selecting Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate fourth overall, keeping the Buckeye star in the state of Ohio.
"The Browns will likely have conversations about the quarterback position, but Shedeur Sanders' growth in three games as the starter has been encouraging. And in this scenario, the two clear-cut best signal-callers in my rankings are off the board. But the Browns also have work to do within the offensive supporting cast, including at offensive tackle and wide receiver," wrote Yates.
"Tate is the next first-round lock from the Ohio State receiver room, and he would be awesome in the Cleveland pass game. He has very good size, runs terrific routes and can make contested catches."
When in need of a talented wide receiver, what better program to pluck from than Ohio State?
No Browns receiver has crossed the 500-yard threshold yet this season, and Tate would be a great step in the right direction of overhauling the position group.
