2025 has not been a great year for the Cleveland Browns, but there are some bright spots to hang your hat on.

Take, for example, rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger. The UCLA product was selected with the 33rd overall pick in last April's draft.

According to BetMGM, Schwesinger has the fourth-highest odds to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, something you don't see very often for a non-pass-rushing linebacker. He even missed two games due to a high-ankle sprain and was miraculously able to return in two weeks.

Jim Schwartz raves about Carson Schwesinger's fast return from a high-ankle sprain

Schwesinger suffered the ankle injury in the Browns' Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots, something that usually takes three to four weeks to recover from.

Somehow, the former Bruin only missed one game, returning in time for Cleveland's Week 10 matchup with the New York Jets.

"He basically lived at the facility for the bye week," Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz told News 5 Cleveland's Camryn Justice.

"I think he's got a little bit of Wolverine blood in him, too."

Schwesinger has started all nine games for Cleveland this season, racking up 74 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and an interception.

He's been a key cog in the Browns' staunch defense and was a great selection from general manager Andrew Berry.

The 22-year-old did suffer a shoulder injury against the Jets and is currently questionable for Cleveland's next game against the Baltimore Ravens.

But considering how soon he was able to return from the high-ankle sprain, it's safe to assume he'll be suited up and ready for Baltimore.
