Who’s really running Browns HC search? ESPN host claims it’s not just Andrew Berry image

The Cleveland Browns are in the thick of a head coaching hunt, but a bombshell claim from ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo suggests the power dynamic in Berea has shifted.

While Andrew Berry holds the general manager title, Rizzo suggests the real decisions are being filtered through a different duo.

"I’m telling you, it’s Jimmy and Myles," Rizzo stated on The Really Big Show. "I don't think Andrew Berry is just out there on his own. I think Myles Garrett has a huge seat at this table, and we know Jimmy is going to do what Jimmy wants to do."

This "new power structure" raises alarms for fans familiar with Jimmy Haslam’s track record of meddling. From famously ignoring his scouting department to draft Johnny Manziel after a homeless man’s advice, to the aggressive pursuit of the Deshaun Watson trade, Haslam has a history of overriding his football experts.

The inclusion of Myles Garrett, however, adds a modern twist. As a generational talent and the face of the franchise, Garrett’s buy-in is essential. If the Browns are truly letting their star player and an impulsive owner steer the ship, Berry may be overseeing a search where the destination has already been decided for him.
