It's pretty obvious that Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is not fun at parties.

Taylor was on the sideline for the Week 18 contest against the Cleveland Browns when superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett broke the single-season sacks record in the fourth quarter after taking down Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for sack No. 23.

Following the sack, the game was paused for a moment to allow Garrett to celebrate his historic moment, but that left Taylor frustrated.

As Taylor told reporters, he was not told by officials that would happen if Garrett broke the record, which didn't sit well with the Bengals head coach because the Bengals were trying to play hurry-up.

“There’s five minutes left in our season. We’re playing for our lives here, and I was never told that we’re gonna stop the game — and in a critical moment like that," he said. "And the refs just said that they made a decision that they were gonna stop the game… We’re trying to be on the ball and go and play with tempo, and the umpire just held the ball so that we couldn’t do anything.”

Oh, please.

We could understand Taylor's gripe if the Bengals had something to play for, but they didn't because Cincy was eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago.

In fact, it actually benefitted the Bengals to lose, as doing so would help Cincinnati secure the highest draft pick possible depending on the results of other games.

If Taylor wants a justifiable reason to be mad in that situation, do a better job at coaching and actually put your team in position to make the playoffs in Week 18.
