The Cincinnati Bengals will be looking for a second consecutive win when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Week 14. The Bengals will need a win in order to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, but luckily they’ll have the services of one of their star wide receivers for the contest.
After missing Cincinnati’s 32-14 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving due to a concussion, Tee Higgins will be back in action for the Bengals in Buffalo. Higgins has cleared concussion protocol and will be out on the field on Sunday.
Tee Higgins will play in Week 14 vs. Bills after clearing concussion protocol
This will be the first time since the second week of the season that the Bengals will have the trio of Higgins, Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow all healthy and available for the same game.
Burrow returned to game action against the Ravens after missing the team’s previous nine games with turf toe. It didn’t take too long for the star quarterback to look like his old self, as he threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns against Baltimore’s defense. And that was without Higgins.
On the season, Higgins has caught 40 passes for 575 yards and seven touchdowns. His yardage and reception totals are down somewhat compared to his usual production, but he was also working with a backup quarterback, and not Burrow, for the bulk of the season.
Plus, Higgins’ value on the field can’t be measured solely in stats, as his mere presence helps to open things up for Chase and the rest of the offense. There’s a reason Burrow was so adamant about the team retaining him over the offseason.
So far this season, the Bills have allowed the fewest passing yards per game (163.2) in the entire league, so moving the ball down the field on them will be a challenge for Cincinnati’s offense. Having Higgins available should help.
