Wild stat shows how putrid the Cincinnati Bengals defense is image

It goes without saying that the Cincinnati Bengals are a mess. They have lost their last two games by a combined score of 76-13, and the Denver Broncos outgained them 512-159 in Week 4. And while many fans are calling for Cincinnati to go out and get a new quarterback, a trade for Russell Wilson or Teddy Bridgewater won't fix how bad the defense is.

Cincinnati is 26th in defensive EPA per play and they are allowing the third-most passing yards per game. They are also 26th in rushing yards allowed per game, and the latest stat shows just how bad their run defense is.

J.K. Dobbins topped 100 yards on Monday, which marks the first time the Broncos have had a 100-yard rusher in 33 games.

"With Denver snapping the league's longest active drought without a 100-yard rusher last night against the Bengals, it transfers to the Browns, who have gone 29 games since Jerome Ford had 107 in Week 10, 2023," Jay Morrison reports.

This problem isn't going away unless the Bengals make sweeping changes to their coaching staff, and that includes Zac Taylor. Their schedule isn't getting any easier, as the Bengals will host the Detroit Lions in Week 5.
