The Cincinnati Bengals are keeping Zac Taylor as their head coach, much to the chagrin of many Bengals fans this offseason.

While he's helped lead the team to a Super Bowl appearance, the struggles of the team in recent years make his job security a realistic one to question. But he's not going anywhere and will coach the team next season.

But a wild statistic from Charlie Clifford of WLWT NBC 5 Cincinnati will frustrate Bengals fans even more than they already are with Taylor and the team.

After the Buffalo Bills fired Sean McDermott, only two head coaches in the AFC were in their current jobs during the 2022 season. Those two are Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Taylor with the Bengals.

Since 2022, there have been three Super Bowls. Reid and the Chiefs have won two and have made it to all three. While the Chiefs aren't in the Super Bowl this season, they're still one of the best teams in the league.

The Bengals, meanwhile, have made the playoffs just once in the four seasons since 2022. Taylor's Bengals went 12-4 and made the AFC Championship game, but were eliminated by Reid's Chiefs.

In the next three seasons, the Bengals have gone 9-8, 9-8, and this season, 6-11. The Bengals haven't been good lately, and many fans were calling for Taylor to be fired.

But, he's staying in the Bengals head coaching job for now. Despite teams all around the league moving on from their experienced head coaches, the Bengals are sticking with Taylor despite worse results.

The Baltimore Ravens and John Harbaugh are done. Mike Tomlin stepped down from the Pittsburgh Steelers job, and recently, McDermott was fired from the Bills job despite making the AFC Divisional round.

Every other coach in the AFC, other than Taylor and Reid, was hired in 2023 or later. If Taylor had been consistently making the playoffs, it wouldn't be as big an issue.

But, since the Bengals have struggled so much the last three seasons, the Bengals keeping Taylor while the rest of the league parts with their veteran coaches is incredibly frustrating for Bengals fans.
