Joe Burrow is almost back for the Bengals.

But he isn't back yet.

And on Sunday, that meant that it was Joe Flacco starting again for Cincinnati against the New York Jets.

Except in the second half, Flacco had to leave the game. Jake Browning came in to play QB.

Why did Bengals pull Joe Flacco for Jake Browning?

Flacco came out of the game because he got injured.

He sustained one of those follow-through hand injuries. He threw a pass, then hit his throwing hand on a defender's hand.

Flacco came to the sideline flexing his right hand, clearly not totally comfortable.

Browning came into the game, not for the first time this season.

He was the first fill-in for Burrow earlier this year, but he wasn't good enough, which is why the Bengals traded for Flacco.

Now, at least for a moment, Browning was in.
