The worst-case scenario has unfolded for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to multiple reports, Burrow is going to need surgery to address his turf toe and the procedure is expected to sideline him at least three months, which means he won't return until about mid-December.
Burrow suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, forcing his early exit.
The Bengals have a solid backup in place with Jake Browning, but the team will look to bring in another signal-caller to fill the void behind him, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday morning.
And, with that, there is one name many in the NFL world want to see Cincinnati make a trade for: New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston.
Winston is the definition of a gun slinger, although that mentality often gets him into trouble with turnovers. Even still, it would be awesome to see him throwing passes to the likes of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
"I’m not wishing Jameis [Winston] out of New York. He is providing value to this Giants team even while off the field," the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard said. "But… Jameis throwing to [Ja'Marr] Chase and [Tee] Higgins would be (fire)."
"America needs Jameis Winston on the Bengals," one fan wrote.
"The Bengals should trade for Jameis Winston, we need his entertainment starting games again," another fan said.

It is conceivable that the Giants would be willing to trade Winston.
After all, Jameis has been inactive the first two games of the season with the Giants making rookie Jaxson Dart the backup quarterback behind Russell Wilson, which makes Winston expendable.
Winston wouldn't even be guaranteed to get in a game with Browning ahead of him on the depth chart, but all we need is a chance. Winston is also a good locker room guy, so that's another attractive element of acquiring him.
Make it happen, Bengals.
