The Cincinnati Bengals' 2025 season is all but over, as they've been eliminated from playoff contention for some time.

But that doesn't mean there is nothing left to play for. Ja'Marr Chase has plenty on the line, specifically, two different records he could set over the final two weeks.

As Theo Gremminger of Fantasy Points on Twitter/x shared, Chase is closing in on two pieces of NFL and Bengals history, both of which revolve around one statistic: receptions.

Ja'Marr Chase is chasing reception NFL history

As Gremminger notes, Chase has 110 receptions so far this season. He needs 18 more catches this season over the final two weeks to break the Bengals' single-season receptions record, which he previously set at 127.

With two weeks to go, which includes matchups against the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns, Chase breaking that record isn't far-fetched at all.

But if he were to break that record, he'd be matching an NFL-wide record as well. If he reaches 120 receptions this season (just 10 more than he has now), Chase would make some NFL history.

He'd be the first player to record back-to-back seasons of 120 receptions since Michael Thomas did so with the New Orleans Saints.

While this isn't some incredible record-breaking NFL history for Chase, it's still worth noting, as it highlights just how involved he is in the offense.

Chase, as Gremminger writes, is on an "all time great path" in his NFL career. Setting these two records would help further cement his status as the best WR in the NFL currently, and further give credence to the idea of him being one of the best ever.
