Bengals pick up speedy rookie WR from Steelers in latest roster move image

The Cincinnati Bengals had gotten an up-close look at Ke'Shawn Williams this season.

So when the Pittsburgh Steelers waived him on Monday, Cincy saw its chances.

The Bengals claimed the rookie WR off waivers on Tuesday.

Williams is a speedy 5-foot-9 wide receiver who split his college career between Wake Forest and Indiana after coming out of the Philadelphia area.

This is the first season in the NFL for Williams, who hasn't caught a pass.

Instead, his role has been as a return man.

Williams has played in eight games.

He has 18 kick returns this season for 425 yards, with a long return of 37 yards.

Williams has also returned 11 punts for 112 yards, with a long of 17.

The rookie did have two fumbles, but overall did a solid job for Pittsburgh.

Against the Bengals specifically this season in two games, Williams had four kick returns for 111 yards and two punt returns for 27 yards.

The Bengals have gotten great work from Charlie Jones in the kick return game, so this could just be a chance to get eyes on a young player in case he can help Cincy's roster down the road at some point.
