The Cincinnati Bengals have scored 80 points in their last two games - they are 0-2 in that stretch.

It is nearly unprecedented to see an offense play this well while the same team's defense plays so poorly, and it may cost the Bengals their season. Not only are their losses to the New York Jets and Chicago Bears painful, they are historic.

Per Ari Meirov, this type of two-game spell hasn't been seen in six decades.

"[The] Bengals are the first team since the 1960s to score 38+ points in back-to-back games and lose both games," Meirov posts on X.

The Bengals gave up 23 points in the fourth quarter to the Jets, which led to a 39-38 loss. They then allowed the Bears to score a game-winning touchdown in the final minute after taking the lead on their own touchdown with 54 seconds left. They head into their bye week 3-6, and have very little room for error going forward.
