Bengals fans get unexpected Joe Burrow news ahead of Week 12 vs. Patriots image

The Cincinnati Bengals are 3-7, and one more loss will all but end what slim chances they already have at making the postseason. Cincinnati is coming off a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11, which puts them in a bind, especially with the red hot New England Patriots on the docket. However, it looks as if the Bengals are getting Joe Burrow back sooner than expected.

Per the Bengals' practice report, Burrow was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, meaning he is in line to start in Week 12 against the Patriots. Joe Flacco had been the starter since Week 6 after being acquired from the Cleveland Browns, and had done an admirable job, as the Bengals' offense was amongst the best in the NFL over the last month.

However, after seeing the offense nosedive against the Steelers, combined with the AFC playoff race getting away from them, Burrow appears to be coming back sooner than the rumored date of Thanksgiving night.

Burrow suffered a turf toe injury in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which has kept him out of the lineup ever since. The Bengals next four games are as follows:

  • vs. Patriots
  • at Ravens
  • at Bills
  • vs. Ravens

In a situation where they can't afford another loss, Burrow will need to be nearly perfect for the rest of the season.
