Following the Cincinnati Bengals' 34-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a lot is in the cards for the rest of the season. At 3-7, the Bengals are nearly eliminated from playoff contention and have little room for error.

While Joe Burrow could return, the defense is still in a concerning spot. And unfortunately, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, the Bengals got some bad news on one of their key defenders.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor revealed that second-round cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt is having season-ending surgery on a Lisfranc injury. After eight games, Taylor-Britt might've played his last game for the Bengals.

Bengals' Cam Taylor-Britt to undergo season-ending surgery

"More bad news for the Bengals defense: CB Cam Taylor-Britt likely needs Lisfranc surgery, coach Zac Taylor told reporters," Rapoport reports. "His season appears to be over."

Drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft at pick 60, Taylor-Britt has played in 47 games for the Bengals since the 2022 season. The 26-year-old cornerback has started 40 of those 47 games, with all but one of those non-starts coming in 2025.

He played in eight games in 2025, only starting two, before seeing his role diminish over the course of the season. He recorded five pass breakups and 21 tackles in 2025. On 27 targets, he allowed 18 catches for 236 yards and four touchdowns for a 133.6 passer rating.

While only playing a limited time for the Bengals' struggling defense, Taylor-Britt had his worst season since being drafted. His previous high passer rating allowed was a 102.9 in his rookie season.

After a rough 2025 season and now this likely season-ending Lisfranc surgery, Taylor-Britt has most likely played his final game in a Bengals uniform.

There was some minor trade speculation this season, but like Trey Hendrickson, he wasn't dealt, as the Bengals held onto all but Logan Wilson at the deadline.

He recorded seven interceptions, two of which went for touchdowns, 38 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, 0.5 sacks, and 203 tackles in his Bengals career.

Now, after his Lisfranc surgery, the former standout Bengals cornerback will hit the open market as a free agent and most likely depart for a new team in the offseason.
