After losing their third straight game to the Detroit Lions in Week 5, the Cincinnati Bengals are now 2-3.
They will look to turn things around with possibly a new quarterback at the helm after trading for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. The deal that took place on Tuesday included the Bengals receiving the 40-year-old and a 2026 sixth-round pick, while the Browns will be getting a 2026 fifth-round pick.
To make things better for Flacco, the Bengals announced the return of one of their injured offensive lineman to try and help protect the quarterback.
Bengals announce the return of guard Lucas Patrick
While the Bengals look to prepare for a tough matchup with the 2-1-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 6, the team announced the return of guard Lucas Patrick. Cincinnati designated the 32-year-old for return from the reserve/injured list, the Bengals' social media account announced.
Patrick went down with a calf injury in the Bengals' Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. With the team announcing its return to practice, this will open the 21-day window for activation to the 53-man roster.
He will be activated to the roster if he can demonstrate that he's healthy enough to play, and the Bengals will be patiently waiting until that happens.

Cincinnati has allowed 14 sacks to opposing teams through five games, and the Bengals are ranked dead last in rushing yards per game by a wide margin (57 yards per game). Getting Lucas Patrick back from injury will hopefully be the start of improving the team's offense.
