Will Rome Odunze return in Week 17? Ben Johnson provides key injury update on Bears WR image

Rome Odunze has missed the last three games for the Chicago Bears due to a stress fracture in his foot.

The 2024 first-round pick tried to return to the lineup in the Bears' Week 15 matchup versus the Cleveland Browns, but aggravated his foot injury in warmups and didn't play. This also caused Odunze to be sidelined for Week 16 versus the Green Bay Packers.

Though Odunze has yet to play in December, head coach Ben Johnson is confident that the young wide receiver will be back at some point this season.

Will Rome Odunze return in Week 17?

While speaking to the media on Tuesday, Johnson said Odunze is on the right track in his rehab and should be able to help the playoff-bound Bears this year.

"He's right on track," Johnson said of Odunze via Courtney Cronin of ESPN. "He's in a good spot. He's going to be able to help us this year."

Getting Odunze back would be incredibly beneficial for the Bears. The Washington product tallied 661 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games before getting injured, so he's a key part of Chicago's passing attack.

Johnson didn't state whether Odunze will be back for the Bears' Week 17 contest against the San Francisco 49ers. However, it's clear that Odunze is inching closer to returning.
