Rivalries are one of the most essential facets in sports. Lakers vs Celtics, Yankees vs Red Sox, Duke vs UNC; these are organizations and programs that go down in history. 

When it comes to the NFL, there is perhaps no greater rivalry than that between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. With a rivalry that’s been alive since 1921, there has been ample time for animosity to brew. 

Hell, I recently attended the Bears vs Steelers Week 12 matchup, and on the way out of the stadium, my ears were blasted with chants of “F*** Green Bay!” There is no love lost.

The two teams are set to face each other for the first time this season on Sunday when the Bears will travel to Green Bay to face their foes. That game was flexed to 4:25 ET, but that’s not the game making headlines.

Today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed their Week 16 game will be taken up a notch.

Week 16 Bears vs Packers flexed to Sunday Night Football

For the majority of this rivalry, the Packers have certainly gotten the better of Chicago. The overall record is 108-96-6 in favor of Green Bay, but the Bears find themselves in a position they typically don’t find themselves in.

Today, it was reported that the matchup this season will have too much on the line not to be a primetime game. 

The NFC North is on the line this week when the Bears and Packers play. By Week 16, could it be the fate of the entire NFC on the line?
