Is Rome Odunze playing today? Latest injury update on Bears WR for Week 18 image

The Chicago Bears will be battling for playoff positioning in the Week 18 game versus the Detroit Lions and may not have wide receiver Rome Odunze.

Odunze has been dealing with a foot injury for much of the campaign and has not played since Week 13. He attempted to make a return to the field in Week 15 but suffered a setback in pre-game warm-ups that prevented him from playing.

Odunze showed a sign of progress this week by putting in a limited practice, but he only had one before drawing the questionable tag on Friday.

Here's what we know about Odunze's chances of suiting up.

Is Rome Odunze playing today?

There is no concrete answer on Odunze's status, but we would say he's more likely to sit out than play.

That's because of the fact that Odunze only practiced once last week, and it was a limited session, which is a sign he still isn't 100%.

Adding to that, the Bears have to worry about having Odunze healthy for the playoffs and are unlikely to push it with their top wideout with just a one-spot difference on the line when it comes to playoff seeding.

Ideally, the Bears would love to get Odunze some snaps so he can shake off the rust before the postseason, but we don't expect Chicago to risk Odunze aggravating his injury in a game the Bears don't really need to win.
