The Chicago Bears will look to continue their offensive successes in Week 10 as they take on a struggling New York Giants team on Sunday.
Chicago's Week 9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals was led by impressive performances by quarterback Caleb Williams (280 passing yards, 53 rushing yards, three touchdowns) as well as rookie running back Kyle Monangai (26 carries, 176 rushing yards), who made his first career start in the win.
This was due to Chicago's usual starting running back, D'Andre Swift, missing the game due to a groin injury that he's been dealing with in recent weeks. Although he's listed as questionable for Week 10, reports are saying that he's expected to suit up.
RB D'Andre Swift expected to play in Week 10 vs. Giants
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs reported over the weekend, saying that despite D'Andre Swift not practicing on Friday due to personal reasons and only practicing in a limited fashion on Thursday, he's expected to play on Sunday against the New York Giants.
This will mean that Swift will most likely take over once again as the lead rusher in the backfield, and rookie running back Kyle Monangai will go back to his usual RB2 spot.
Before missing Week 9's game, Swift was putting together an impressive season. Through seven games, he totaled 464 rushing yards, 192 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. His 4.6 yards per carry ranks 12th among running backs with at least 100 carries this season.
It will be interesting to see how head coach Ben Johnson will use the pair of running backs, as Monangai has proven that he's a reliable option. Not just this, but the Giants have the second-worst rush defense in the NFL this season.
