The Las Vegas Raiders came into this season with a bit more hope than they have had in the previous five to ten years. A new proven coach in Pete Carroll was hired, a new QB in Geno Smith was brought in, and a star RB was acquired in the draft in Ashton Jeanty.
Unfortunately, this was all for naught as they've looked like the same old Raiders and now find themselves at 2-13 and heavily in contention for the number one pick.
In an attempt to secure said pick, the Raiders announced that they would be shutting down star edge rusher Maxx Crosby for the remaining two games of the season. According to Jay Glazer, when Crosby heard this, he was not happy.
Could this be the final straw that forces the Raiders' hand into moving their star? If it is, there are a few teams out there who feel that an elite edge rusher would take them over the top.
One of those teams is the Chicago Bears.
Maxx Crosby drama has Bears fans envisioning a trade
This season, the Chicago Bears have shocked the league by looking like a team that's ready to compete for a Super Bowl in year one of Ben Johnson's tenure.
As is a prerequisite for Super Bowl contenders, the Bears have little to no weaknesses when you look across their roster, outside of pass rusher.
With the news coming out of Vegas today, it has many Bears fans imagining what Crosby would look like in navy and orange.

This Bears team ranks 22nd in the league in total sacks. While they do have Montez Sweat, a gifted rusher, and 2nd year edge Austin Booker, who's looked great, Chicago definitely needs a clear number one pass rusher, and Crosby could be that guy.
It wouldn't take much if Crosby officially requested a trade. His contract is very tradeable as well, and for a team with a star QB still on a rookie contract, this could be the time to strike.
We'll see if the Bears' pass rush, or lack thereof, bites them in the playoffs, because if it does, you can surely expect a move to be made this summer.
