The Chicago Bears, despite a devastating divisional loss to the Green Bay Packers last week, are still one of the best stories in the NFL.
One of the biggest reasons for their success has been the success of the defense and, more specifically, their secondary. Both DC Dennis Allen and DB coach Al Harris have done a fantastic job scheming their guys this season.
It’s led to the Bears being the league leaders in turnovers this season, with a wide margin in their interception margin. This has been despite injuries to many of their key defensive backs as well.
One of the players who has missed a fair amount of time this season has been 4th-year CB Kyler Gordon. He’s missed much of the season due to various groin issues, and today, the Bears released some even more poor news about him.
Kyler Gordon placed on IR by Bears
Today, the Chicago Bears announced that they’d be placing CB Kyler Gordon on the injured reserve list.

Anyone placed on the injured reserve list has to miss a minimum of four weeks. There are four weeks left in the regular season.
It’s reportedly the Bears' hope that Gordon will be able to return to the team by the time the playoffs roll around, but it’s certainly not a guarantee at this point. If they do miss him, that shouldn’t be the end of the world for the Chicago defense.
With Jaylon Johnson back now, Tyreke Stevenson set to return this week, Kevin Byard holding down the back end at safety, and Nahshon Wright playing lights out this season, the Bears' secondary should continue to roll on.

It’s never a bad thing to have too many good players, so hopefully for Chicago, they’re able to add Gordon back to this unit for good come the playoffs.
