Could the Bears be moving to Indiana?

The Chicago Bears are right on the cusp of accomplishing a feat the organization hasn't pulled off in years. Winning the NFC North.

With the lead in the division right now and a pivotal game against the 2nd-place Green Bay Packers this week, accomplishing that vision is right on the horizon.

Due to the season they've had, and the energizing of the city Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams have provided, fan excitement and support have arguably never been higher.

One 'gift', if you will, that the organization has been trying desperately to give not just to the team but to the team's fans has been a new state-of-the-art stadium. For the longest time, the plans have been for it to be a bit out of the city in Arlington Heights.

After a statement from the Bears' president/CEO, not only does Arlington Heights sound like a long shot, but they might be taking the stadium out of the state of Illinois.

Bears to expand stadium search into Northwest Indiana

It was announced on Wednesday by Kevin Warren that, although the organization has had its heart set on a location in Arlington Heights, due to issues with the state, that may no longer be the case.

A $2 billion pledge by the Chicago Bears organization (one of the largest in state and NFL history) hasn't been enough to get the state to make it a priority, despite it providing thousands of union jobs and a site that could deliver year-round attractions in a dome and all the profit that would bring.

Warren stated that this isn't a leverage move, but rather "keeping every credible pathway open" to provide a championship-level environment to the fans and team.

It's understood that the goal is to provide the city and the team with a state-of-the-art stadium worthy of their loyalty and dedication, but if it comes at the cost of the city losing their team, I doubt that's a price the fans are willing to pay.
