Tight end Cole Kmet is one of several players to draw a questionable tag for the crucial Week 16 game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers at Solider Field on Saturday night.
Kmet is dealing with ankle and knee injuries and is listed as questionable to play. A good sign for his status was Kmet was able to practice all week and even had a full session on Thursday.
Here's the latest update on Kmet's status ahead of the hugel NFC North showdown on Saturday night.
Is Cole Kmet playing tonight?
It looks like Kmet is going to play on Saturday night.
While the team has yet to confirm his status, Kmet did tell reporters that he expects to play, according to Adam Hoge of ALLCHICAGO.com.
We'll get final confirmation an hour and a half before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, when both teams release their lists of inactives.
Cole Kmet fantasy football advice
Kmet has continued his downward spiral from a once-elite option at tight end in 2023, to an afterthought in 2024 and 2025, as Kmet ranks as TE37 overall going into Week 16.
Part of the problem has been the emergence of rookie tight end Colston Loveland, and the Bears also have a lot of mouths to feed in general in the passing game.
Chicago will be without two wide receivers in Week 16, with Luther Burden and Rome Odunze both out, so that cracks the door for Kmet to have a bigger role.
However, the Packers also present a tough matchup, with Green Bay giving up the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season.
After what we've seen out of Kmet in 2025, there is just no world where you can depend on him as a starting option in the fantasy playoffs, outside of the most desperate injury situations.
