Former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs was released by the Dallas Cowboys today, giving him a chance to reach the free-agent market if he goes unclaimed.

That said, if Diggs is claimed he'll be owed a minimum of $472,000 for Week 18 that could turn into even more if Diggs is active for the game.

With the high price tag, there's a chance that he'll go unclaimed and become a free agent.

If so, Diggs is rumored to be interested in joining a team preparing for the playoffs.

After hearing the news, former Super Bowl Champion C.J. Gardner-Johnson already began recruiting Diggs to the Chicago Bears.

Gardner-Johnson posted the bear emoji with suggestive eyes on X.

Gardner-Johnson recently made a similar move, signing with Chicago after being released by the Houston Texans earlier in the year.

If Diggs were to sign with Chicago, he'd join the Bears' defense that ranks No.1 on takeaways this season.

Additionally, he'd join a familiar face in Al Harris. Harris coaches defensive backs for the Bears, a role he used to hold in Dallas where he worked with Diggs.

With all of this in mind, there are sure to be other teams interested in Diggs' services.

The Philadelphia Eagles are rumored to be another fit.

Or perhaps Diggs could join his brother Stefon in New England, as the Patriots remain in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Regardless, Diggs would make for a bargain signing for a team in search of a deep playoff run.
