The Chicago Bears' playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night meant a little bit extra for the Bears.
And that's not just us saying that, as head coach Ben Johnson said as much following his team's miraculous comeback win over Green Bay.
After the game, Johnson revealed that the noise coming from the Packers before the contest gave the Bears a little extra fire to come away with a win.
“There was probably a little bit more noise coming out of their building up north at the start of the week — which we heard loud and clear," Johnson said, according to ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin. "Players and coaches alike. So this one meant something to us.”
It isn't clear exactly what Johnson is referencing as far as the noise at the start of the week is concerned, but we do know the two teams shared a confrontation at midfield prior to kickoff, although no fights occurred.
The Bears' win over the Packers was nothing short of incredible.
Chicago looked dead in the first half and trailed 21-3, which was the largest halftime deficit for a home playoff game in Bears franchise history.
The Bears also trailed 21-6 in the fourth quarter, making this the largest fourth-quarter deficit the Bears have overcome in a playoff game since 1933, when Chicago trailed the New York Giants by five points before winning the game.
We really shouldn't be all that surprised the Bears managed to claw their way back and win, as the team has been doing it all season long.
Now, the Bears will wait to see who their opponent for the divisional round will be as the rest of Wild Card Weekend plays out.
